Argus family / Deep water
Argus B
The deeper-water member of the Argus family. Argus B goes to the seafloor and performs the same sensing, on-edge inference, storage, power management, and acoustic communication functions as Argus A, using a housing designed for greater depth.

Platform overview
Greater depth without changing the mission workflow.
Argus B extends the pressure envelope while keeping the same fundamental platform behavior. It descends to the seafloor, remains stationary for long-duration observation, and can be deployed with a drop-weighted or non-drop-weighted configuration as those systems are completed. Mooring, attachment, or midwater placement remain available options rather than the defining product.
The selected sensor stack feeds an on-node AI and inference system. Argus B controls duty cycles to preserve battery, continuously evaluates the local environment, removes unimportant data from the acoustic communications burden, retains detailed records, and sends compact detections or confirmations to other nodes, underwater vehicles, and Nexus.
- Deployment
- Seafloor first, with drop-weighted and non-drop-weighted configurations in development; optional moored, attached, or midwater placement.
- Processing
- On-node inference, event selection, compression, power-aware scheduling, and local storage.
- Payloads
- Mission-configurable acoustic, optical, oceanographic, chemical, and physical sensor stacks.
- Communication
- Long-range low-data-rate node networking and short-range vehicle communication, configured for the mission.

Seafloor deployment
Long endurance begins with leaving the node in place.
Argus B is built to provide a stationary sensing and communication point at depth. That persistent location lets it understand the local acoustic and environmental baseline, detect change, and give passing UUVs or ROVs a purpose instead of requiring them to patrol continuously.
