Argus family / Shallow water

Argus A

The compact member of the Argus family for coastal and shelf operations. Argus A descends to the seafloor, remains on station, and performs the same sensing, on-edge inference, storage, power management, and acoustic communication functions as the deeper-rated nodes.

Platform overview

A smaller housing for the same persistent seabed mission.

Argus A is selected when the mission does not require the pressure housing of Argus B or X. Its primary operating model is seabed deployment, using either a drop-weighted or non-drop-weighted configuration as those systems are completed. It can also be attached to infrastructure, moored, or held in the water column when a customer needs a different geometry.

The node accepts the required sensor stack and processes those signals where they are collected. On-edge models identify important events, manage the sensing and inference duty cycle to conserve battery, compress mission-relevant results, and retain detailed data locally. Compact messages can move acoustically to another node, an underwater vehicle, or the wider system.

Deployment
Seafloor first, with drop-weighted and non-drop-weighted configurations in development; optional attached, moored, or midwater placement.
Processing
On-node inference, event selection, compression, power-aware scheduling, and local storage.
Payloads
Mission-configurable acoustic, optical, chemical, and physical sensor stacks.
Communication
Acoustic node-to-node and node-to-vehicle messaging, with network status and alerts represented in Nexus.

Seafloor deployment

Designed to arrive, settle, and remain.

Argus A is not dependent on an existing structure. The compact node can be deployed directly to the seabed for defense, environmental, infrastructure, and coastal monitoring missions, with alternative installation methods available when they improve the sensing geometry.

Pre-order / Planned delivery 2027

Reserve a mission-specific Argus A configuration.

Select the operating profile, deployment method, sensing payloads, communications, and quantity you need. Aphotic will review the requested configuration and respond with feasibility, production availability, and a formal quote.

01

Mission and deployment

Tell us where the node will operate and how it should be placed.

02

Sensor stack

Select the measurements required by the mission. Aphotic will confirm packaging, power, sampling rate, and depth compatibility.

03

Network and operating layer

Choose how the node should communicate with other assets and how operators should receive its data.

04

Organization and schedule

Provide enough context for Aphotic to prepare the configuration review and quote.

Your non-binding request is sent directly to Aphotic without leaving this site.
